Words from the President

Hello Fellow C.A.R. Members! I have had a great start to my year as state president and am excited to see what the rest of the year brings! I am excited to share with you all about my state project, "A Home For Our Heroes". I will be raising funds for Jackson Street Commons. Jackson Street Commons provides permanent housing in Kokomo for chronically homeless, disabled veterans. There are many people which you could call heroes but my heroes are the United States veterans. Many of them have put their lives on line to help defend the freedoms we enjoy today yet 49,000 veterans are homeless on any given night and another 1.4 million are at risk of becoming homeless. I believe they all deserve a home to come back to since they served and fought so we can have ours. This is why I have chosen my year as state president to raise money for Jackson Street Commons, which help, provide the basic needs for 27 veterans. I will be selling veterans pins for $10 which I encourage you to pass onto a veteran you consider as your hero. I am also available to speak to local C.A.R., D.A.R., and S.A.R. chapters. I hope you will join me in helping to promote my project. Alex Knight Indiana State President C.A.R. 2015-2016
