Hello, my name is Cassie Carter. I am the new Indiana C.A.R. State President for the 2004 year. I have some big plans for Indiana C.A.R. but before I tell about them I will give you a little information about myself.

As a sophomore at Kokomo Christian School I have a very busy schedule filled with sports such as volleyball and basketball, 4-H projects like genealogy and cattle, spending time with friends and hanging out with my brother John and sister Kelly Ann. I have been in the Chief Peshewa C.A.R. Society, Howard County for eight years and have served on the state level for six years.

For my state project this year I want to get C.A.R. members involved. My project centers around a monument in Delphi. It is on the site of the first cabin in Carroll County belonging to Samuel Milroy, a Child of the American Revolution. Weeds now overrun the site of the cabin and the monument is not visible from the road. As the first phase of my project I would like to clear away the undergrowth from the area and even take out some of the small trees so that the monument can be seen from the road. I would also like to build a handrail going up the small hill to the monument to make it easier to get to the site. The second part of my project is to purchase a historical road marker that would tell about the site and of Samuel Milroy’s life and accomplishments. The marker will be placed on a road near the site.

To accomplish these goals I need much support. To raise funds for the monument I will be selling patriotic tote bags, flag and star pins, and voices for a beautiful eagle throw that will be given at next years C.A.R State Conference (You do not have to be present to win).
